Christmas time in the Classroom

This time is very stressful in the classroom.  Reality is that children are probably not on their normal sleeping schedule.  There are many events in the communities.  There are tamale making parties, ugly sweater parties and definitely Christmas programs at many of our kid’s schools.  There are is also stress from parents what to buy the sweet, loving teacher who spends hours grading papers, and truly does not earn enough as a teacher.

These are some  suggestions I have gathered from chatting with other teachers in the lounge and other teacher friends, whom we often find ourselves talking about Christmas and our students.

These are some ideas to brighten your teacher’s smile, after all she is working hard and trying to make sure your child is successful in school.  Of course, in my mind I always hope that each teacher your child interacts creates a positive influence and hooks them as a lifelong learner.

Possible ideas steer clear of the mugs, our cabinets can only hold so many.  In all honesty I do have a few mugs I have held on through the years and I still remember the students that gave them to me.

  1. Starbucks gift card as little as $5.00 is a great way to start the morning
  2. Target Giftcard again any amount will do because the reality is it can be used for fun, or teacher will spend it on the dollar bins at the entrance of Target
  3. Pedicure gift certificate
  4. Baked Goods, if your family enjoys baking bring the cookies or any baked goods.
  5. Classroom supplies are always a win
